Texas Probate Passport

“Texas Probate Passport” has been prepared to inform the public regarding: (1) what happens legally to the property of a person when he or she dies with a will or without a will; and (2) how the probate process works. It also provides lists to assist in preparing a will, and in preparing for probate. The Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) seeks to make Texas residents aware of how the law (the Texas Probate Code) affects them and their families.

This handbook is not a substitute for the advice of a lawyer, but instead is designed to assist Texans in learning about their legal rights.

Special Kids with Special Needs

This handbook is meant to be a tool to help you find the resources needed to help with the challenges involved with raising a special needs or disabled child, while also planning for their future. We hope it can provide you with some peace of mind knowing that your child is protected and that there are laws that can help ensure your child's future is bright.

Please note that this handbook is intended solely to provide general information and is not a substitute for legal counsel. Any laws described in this handbook are subject to change at any time. If you have a specific legal question or problem, we strongly suggest that you consult an attorney.

Medicare, Medicaid and SSI

This guide is intended to provide an overview of the federal Medicare, Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income programs and is not intended to be a comprehensive source of information on these programs. The Texas Young Lawyers Association seeks to make Texas residents generally aware of who is eligible for these programs, the benefits available through these programs, and how the benefits can be obtained. This information is not a substitute for the advice of a lawyer, but instead is designed to assist Texans in learning about their legal rights.
